Grades we sell
We carry the full range of domestic grades for fuel yards and retail customers, plus unscreened coal for industrial buyers. The pea grade is also available bagged if the yard resells at retail.
The country of origin depends on the particular batch. Most of the coal comes from Kazakhstan, with some batches arriving by sea from Colombia and Venezuela. When you enquire we state the origin and parameters of the batch we can actually release.
| Pea | retort and feeder boilers |
| Nut | hand-fired boilers, tiled stoves |
| Cobble | hand-fired boilers, long burn |
| Pea, bagged | retail resale from the yard |
| Unscreened | heating plants and industrial sites |

Parameters of the latest batch
The figures below come from the test report for a batch of unscreened 0–300 mm coal shipped from Kazakhstan. The sample was taken during loading under independent inspection, in accordance with ISO 18283. Parameters vary between batches and between grades, so we quote them separately for each delivery and share the report before purchase.
This is low-ash, low-sulphur coal. One and a half percent of ash means fifteen kilograms of residue per tonne, several times less than typical steam coal — and ash has to be removed, hauled away and paid for. With unscreened coal the grain size matters too: in the batch tested, close to half the mass was above 25 mm and the fraction below 13 mm made up under a quarter.
| Parameter | Test result | What it means in the boiler house |
|---|---|---|
| Net calorific value (as received) | 26.3 MJ/kg6,273 kcal/kg | The higher it is, the fewer tonnes you buy and haul for the same heat output. |
| Ash content (dry basis) | 1.5% | One and a half percent means fifteen kilograms of residue per tonne — fewer grate cleanings and less waste to haul away. |
| Sulphur content (dry basis) | 0.30% | Low sulphur means less low-temperature corrosion in the boiler and milder stack emissions. |
| Total moisture | 11.6% | Water does not heat — every point of moisture is energy spent evaporating it instead of making heat. |
| Volatile matter (dry, ash free) | 42.8% | High volatile matter marks long-flame coal: it lights easily and burns steadily. |
| Grain size of the batch tested | unscreened 0–300 mm | Unscreened coal is the full range of grain sizes — for industrial plants, where the cost of energy matters more than how the lump looks. |
How much coal do you need
Enter the tonnage or your annual energy demand — we convert one into the other and show the number of loads and the ash left to remove.
Based on 26.3 MJ/kg and 1.5% ash. Boiler efficiency is not included — these are fuel figures, not delivered heat.
Tell us which grade and how many tonnes you need — we will check availability and name the collection point.
Collection points
We sell coal on FCA terms, releasing it on site at one of four locations, with haulage arranged by the buyer. Loading requires a tipper trailer taking 26 tonnes per truck. If you do not have your own haulier, we will help arrange transport.
We name the exact location once the grade is agreed and availability confirmed, because individual batches sit in different warehouses. Please get in touch telling us which grade and what quantity you need.
What FCA means and how it differs from DAPMalaszewicze
This is where block trains from Kazakhstan arrive and where most of our sales leave from. The terminal sits on the eastern border, at the break of gauge, so the coal is transhipped on site and can be collected as soon as the train is unloaded.

How to order
- 01
Step 1 — enquiry
Send an enquiry through the form on this page or call us, giving your company tax number, the grade you want and the quantity in tonnes. Those three details are enough for us to check availability.
- 02
Step 2 — confirmation and proforma
We confirm availability, name the collection point and issue a proforma invoice. At this stage we also give the parameters of the batch and share the laboratory report if you want to see it before buying.
- 03
Step 3 — booking and collection
Once the payment clears we send a loading booking confirming the time and place. You collect the coal with your own transport, usually within a few working days.

Sandra Strzelecka
Once your payment clears, Sandra sets the time and place of loading, sends the booking confirmation and makes sure your truck is taken at the gate without waiting. She is also the person to call if your haulier shifts the date.
sandra@greenft.euWho we sell to
We sell mainly to fuel yards, solid fuel wholesalers and industrial buyers. Yards take the domestic grades and resell them, while heating plants and industrial sites take unscreened coal, where the cost of energy matters more than the look of the grain.
The results in the table above describe the latest batch. We send the test report for the delivery we will actually release to you before you buy — so you can compare our coal with what you are buying today.
Frequently asked questions
Where does your coal come from?
Most of our coal comes from Kazakhstan and reaches Poland by block trains through the Malaszewicze terminal. Some batches arrive by sea through the Port of Gdansk, mainly from Colombia and Venezuela. We state the origin of the specific batch when we confirm availability.
Which grades are available?
We offer pea, nut, cobble, bagged pea and unscreened coal. Availability of individual grades changes with each shipment, so we confirm the current position when we reply to an enquiry.
What is the calorific value of Kazakh coal?
The latest batch of unscreened coal from Kazakhstan had a net calorific value of 26.3 MJ/kg, that is 6,273 kcal/kg as received, with 1.5% ash and 0.30% sulphur. These are results for one specific delivery rather than catalogue figures — later batches and the other grades are confirmed by their own report, which we share before purchase.
Do you deliver coal to a given address?
We sell on FCA terms, releasing the coal in Malaszewicze, Gdansk, Gliwice or Torun, with haulage arranged by the buyer. If you do not have your own haulier we will help you find one and give an indicative cost per trip.
What is the minimum order?
We sell in full truckloads. A tipper trailer takes 26 tonnes, so that is the natural order unit. For larger volumes and ongoing cooperation we agree terms individually.
Can I see the coal test results?
Yes. The parameters of each batch are confirmed by a laboratory test report, which we share on request before purchase. Parameters differ between shipments, so we always quote them for a specific delivery rather than in general.
How quickly can I collect after ordering?
Once the payment clears we send a loading booking with the time and place. Collection usually follows within a few working days, depending on which warehouse holds the grade you chose.
